Mobile announced its interactive lighting product iGloLEDset is now available
on the Google Android and Google Android Gingerbread 2.3 mobile platforms.
According
to a release, iGloLEDset is a bright, full color lighting kit which is
controllable with mobile devices. Users can wave their phones in the air and
control a 16 to 50 foot strip of 120 to 360 lights.
"The
launch of iGlo for Android and working with Google's platform is an exciting
next step for our emerging company," says Bruce Seymour, managing director
of MEA Mobile. "We love the idea of moving mobile technology into
specialized markets."
MEA
Mobile developed its iGloWiFi controller as a platform for leveraging mobile
devices for hardware control. "Light switches are obsolete," says
Seymour. "There will be an entire industry dedicated to their removal in
the future." In the mean time MEA Mobile is focused on marketing the LED
lights to the architectural and lighting design markets, restaurants, custom
car specialists and for individuals who want to zazz up their Christmas trees
with LED Christmas lights.
The
company noted that the Google Android app features real-time control of the
color LED lights as well has dozens of presets to choose from. The iGloWiFi
controller can connect to users' WiFi hubs and can be secured using standard
WiFi encryption. The app also works with Google's new Gingerbread version of
Android. Multiple kits can be controlled using a single Google Android mobile
device such as the Nexus S, Nexus One, T-Mobile G2, HTC Evo 4G, Motorola Droid
X, Samsung Captivate and other phones running Google Android 1.5 through
Gingerbread 2.3.
